Ringo Starr’s 77th Birthday Includes Announcement Of 19th Solo Album

Ringo Star

Ringo Starr celebrated his 77th birthday Friday and announced the release of his album Give More Love. His 19th solo album will arrive this September. The 10-track LP is the Beatles drummer’s first since 2015’s Postcards from Paradise.

In February, Starr revealed he re-teamed with his former bandmate McCartney in the studio, alongside Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, Starr’s brother-in-law, also contributing to the studio session. This has now been revealed that the session resulted in “We’re On The Road Again,” that also features Edgar Winter and Steve Lukather.

McCartney also appears on the Give More Love track “Show Me the way,” while other guests include Richard Marx, Glen Ballard, Peter Frampton, Dave Stewart, Don Was and the Eagles’ Timothy B. Schmit.

Give More Love, available to pre-order now, comes digitally and on CD September 15th. After the album is released there we be a vinyl released later. The record will also be paired with four bonus tracks: The recently recovered recording originals “Back Off Boogaloo” that the drummer discovered while moving houses, plus re-recorded songs of Starr hits featuring Alberta Cross and Vandaveer.

The drummer’s Facebook web page is posting live videos of fans celebrating throughout the world, including at Abbey Road Studios and Los Angeles’ Capitol Records building to mark Starr’s 77th birthday.
