“When you have been performing as long as I have it takes a toll on your body,” Richie said in a statement, noting that the 35-date tour will be rescheduled for this summer. “Unfortunately, my recovery from a knee procedure will not have me 100 percent ready to start the tour next month. I don’t want to disappoint my fans, and I look forward to being back on stage so we can all be ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ together again.” All formerly sold tickets will likely be honored or replaced for tickets to the identical tour stop when rescheduled.
Richie and Carey announced the tour in December after wrapping up their various Las Vegas concerts. While Carey’s #1 to Infinity happened in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Richie was performing his All the hits show at the Axis at Planet Hollywood. It will be the very first time the duo tour together.
