There was a little additional expectation for the NBA schedule’s release this year, primarily due to the outrageous free agent signings and trade madness that has taken place this summer, though there is always delight when the NBA program is released. Now that the schedule has finally been made public, let’s have a look at some of the most anticipated games for the upcoming NBA season.
The first anticipated game of the season will feature the NBA champ Cleveland Cavaliers in a matchup against the new Knicks, who’ve bolstered their roster with Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, and Courtney Lee. Before the game, LeBron and the Cavs will receive their championship rings during a special ceremony in front of the hometown fans.
D-Rose and Joakim Noah will make an emotional return to the Windy City for the very first time since joining the Knicks this offseason. Though injuries have overshadowed Rose’s career, for a little while, he was the face of the Bulls. Time will tell if the duo receives a warm welcome from the crowd at the United Center.
Thursday, November 10 – Chicago Bulls at Miami Heat
It’ll be a strange feeling for Dwyane Wade when he takes the court at American Airlines Arena in an away uniform.
Christmas Day – Golden State Warriors at Cleveland Cavaliers
This one trumps them all, while the Christmas day lineup is full of great NBA matchups. Steph Curry and the rest of the GS squad will be looking for some payback after falling to the Cavs in the Finals. Playing under the Cavaliers just raised Championship banner should give them a little extra motivation.
That will not be the situation for Kevin Durant, when they return to their former home arenas while Rose, Noah, and Wade have a shot at receiving warm welcomes. The former career-long Thunder player will make his first appearance at Chesapeake Energy Arena since joining the Golden State Warriors.
