Icona Pop transforms an empty Los Angeles eatery into a private nightclub inside their glossy “Brightside” video. The Swedish electro-pop duet drinks and enjoys a private dinner, gazes into glowing fish tanks and dances on an elaborate stairway throughout the clip. The music video was directed by Christine Yuan.
‘Sometimes we have a message in the song that might be kind of angry or sad, but the song sounds happy,’ says Caroline Hjelt.
The group also declared an upcoming performance at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, scheduled for December 11th at the Telenor Arena in Oslo, Norway. The event, honoring Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, will also feature musical spots from Halsey Sting and comedian Conan O’Brien.
Icona Pop released their Emergency EP in July 2015, the exact same month they embarked on a 23-date arena tour opening for One Direction.
The duo’s 2013 LP, This Is…, featured their multi-platinum smash hit “I Love It”.
