Frank Ocean used the second episode of his Beats 1 radio show Blonded to debut “Chanel,” the vocalist’s first new solo tune since the double release of his Endless and Blonde.
“I see both sides like Chanel,” Ocean sings on the hook over a shaky piano melody, stiffled beats and up and down vocals . “2016 burnt like some discs / 2017 playing off a Walkman / This a cult, not a clique on the net.”
“Chanel” is available to stream on all digital music services or purchase on iTunes. The track follows Ocean’s appearance alongside Migos on Calvin Harris’ “Slide.”
The singer did share a dialogue between himself and Jay Z about the modern state of pop radio, while the first episode of Blonded didn’t feature new Ocean music.
Following the tune’s premiere – it played 18 times during the 2nd half of Blonded’s two-hour runtime, with an A$AP Rocky “Chanel” remix hidden within the marathon.
