Fall Out Boy Releases ‘Young and Menace’ Video Off Their New LP – Watch Here

Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy has released the cinematic clip “Young and Menace,” the first single from their seventh studio album Mania set for release on September 15th.

A young girl raised by animal-like creatures is seen finding her own humanity in the “Young and Menace” video, asking her animal parents about her past. She subsequently escapes to see the human world, an adventure ominously soundtracked by the harsh, electro-rock song that references Nikki Sixx and Britney Spears’ “Oops!… I Did It Again.” Towards the conclusion, she ends up in a Fall Out Boy concert before waking up in her bed.

To Elf, bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz compared the video in a statement. “She realizes that maybe she is human after all,” he describes. “But maybe the line between us and monsters is blurrier than we think.”

Wentz also noted that “Young and Menace” reminds him of his youth in the Chicago suburbs. “I didn’t look like anyone there or feel like anyone. I felt like an outsider in my own town,” he says. “It wasn’t until I discovered punk rock and that community that I realized I did fit in somewhere in this world with the other people who didn’t fit in.”

Following the release of Mania, Fall Out Boy will embark on a North American tour, which will launch October 20th at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena and end on November 18th at Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Arena.
