Eminem claimed his eighth Number 1 album as Revival led the Billboard 200 in its debut week.
The rapper’s latest album, his first LP since 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2, sold 267,000 total copies in its first week.
Although Revival is the third-best first-week tally for a hip-hop album in 2017 – behind Kendrick Lamar’s Damn and Drake’s More Life – it had been a significant drop from the first day sales for The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which opened up with 792,000 album sales four years ago.
Every Eminem album since 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP, as well as his Curtain Call greatest hits, has been #1 on the Billboard 200. Eminem continues to be six Number One albums behind Jay-Z’s current Billboard 200 record of 14 #1 hits.
