Luke Bryan was he big winner at Sunday night’s 2016 American Country Countdown Awards show, winning prizes for Male Artist of the Year and Artist of the Year. The Capitol Nashville recording artist unseated Jason Aldean in the entire group, and duplicated his triumph from 2014’s telecast. (The ACCAs weren’t presented in 2015.) The nighttime’s other multiple winner was Sam Hunt, who won Breakthrough Male Musician of the Year, along with Top Digital Record for his million-selling Montevallo phonograph record.
Carrie Underwood took home honors in the Female Vocalist category, snatching the prize from Miranda Lambert – who won in 2014. Could Kelsea Ballerini be waiting in line?

Hardware was picked up by two expert performers. The prize was won by Garth Brooks for Touring Artist of the Year, while Reba McEntire presented longtime pals Brooks & Dunn with the Nash Icon Award for their long and illustrious career.
The evening was also filled with some powerful performances. Chris Janson electrified the crowd with his “Buy Me A Boat,” and Rhett supplied one of the more soulful minutes with his performance of the award winning “Die A Happy Man.” Maybe the evening’s musical high point came at the ending, yet.
