Bob Weir’s ‘Campfire Tour’ Started Last Nite

Bob Weir

After more than 50 years performing as part of some of the most powerful groups in history, Bob Weir has every right to hang it up and go live on a beach someplace. Truly, being more proper to the issue of this post, perhaps he’d favor a ranch. Weir keeps on touring – the latter more likely than the former – most recently touring with Dead & Company. The most recent Bob Weir tour is in support of the release his first solo work in more than 30 years, of Blue Mountain. A collaboration with singer-songwriter Josh Ritter, Weir’s tour is influenced by his time working on a ranch when he was a teen.

Hot off the heels of the Company & Dead tour, the “Campfire Tour” is Weir’s first solo run since 2013. At 12 stops, the tour is brief. Yet, it gives fans the opportunity to see the Mr. Weir by himself, something that so rarely happens. The first tour stop begins in San Rafael, CA, and the tour ends in Chicago, IL on October 20.

Based on tour dates from before this year, Weir will probably play several songs from the new record. The setlist may comprise of “Ki-Yi Bossie,” “Blue Mountain” and “Lay My Lily Down”.  Fans can also anticipate maybe and covers some Grateful Dead songs.
