Going to concerts is a fantastic way to show your support for your favorite bands and musicians and is also a great experience in its own right. There’s something different about live music that makes it much more intense and exciting and this is even truer when there’s a light show to go with it and a cheering audience!
But if you’re going to make the most of your next concert, then you need to go prepared. Here are some good ways to ensure you get the best from it.
Check Your Seats
Whether you opt to stand or sit, make sure that you view a map of the venue before you make your selection. This can save you money and prevent you from having a rotten experience.
You can usually go to concerts a lot more cheaply if you’re willing to get one of the lesser seats. However, just how good these seats are will really depend on the venue. Sometimes they’re really not that bad but other times they’ll be miles away from the action with the view almost entirely obscured! Look at a map before you buy and you can that way be sure that you’re going to get the best bang for your buck.
Bring a Good Camera
Another great tip is to invest in a great camera. A good choice would be a ‘superzoom’ camera. These are cameras that have the same powerful lenses as many DSLR cameras but they’re not as expensive as those cameras and don’t feature the same number of features.
If you’re objective is to get some great shots of the action, then a powerful zoom will be the most important feature.
But Don’t Watch Through It
A good camera can make a big difference to your enjoyment of a concert and give you some great keepsakes to keep at the end of the night. But at the same time, you don’t want to spend the whole night glued to it!
If you’re going to watch the whole thing through your view-finder, then you may as well have stayed home and watched the concert on YouTube. Take a few shots when the stage set-up is especially good and then put it away!
Bring the Right Friend!
A concert is only made much better by bringing a friend along for the ride. But if you’re going to get the most out of the experience, then it’s highly important that you bring the right friend! That means bringing someone who is as enthusiastic about the music as you are and who will being willing to head to the stage if that’s what you’re all about!
You might not be the kind of person who wants to stand the whole night or who wants to mosh for that matter. But that doesn’t mean you can’t dance! And when you do, you’ll find you get a lot more into the moment. Don’t be shy; find a spot where you won’t be in anyone’s way and then let rip!
