If you love dance music or electronic music, chances are you go to at least ONE event a year where this music is played and you are in luck because in 2016 not only are there a lot of old school players, but some new artists are coming into play as well and some of them are really fantastic.
So instead of going to the same old same old concert again and again, check out this highlight of some new as well as old artists for 2016 in the dance and electronic genre.
David Guetta: “Guetta achieved mainstream success with his 2009 album One Love which included the hit singles “When Love Takes Over”, “Gettin’ Over You”, “Sexy Bitch”, and “Memories”, the first three of which reached #1 in the United Kingdom.
The 2011 follow-up album, Nothing but the Beat, continued this success, containing the hit singles “Where Them Girls At”, “Little Bad Girl”, “Without You”, “Titanium” and “Turn Me On”.”
Calvin Harris: “Adam Richard Wiles (born 17 January 1984), known professionally as Calvin Harris, is a Scottish DJ, singer, songwriter, record producer, recording artist and remixer. His debut album, I Created Disco, was released in 2007 and was the precursor to his top-10 singles “Acceptable in the 80s” and “The Girls”.
In 2009, Harris released his second studio album, Ready for the Weekend, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and earned a gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry within two months of release. Its lead single, “I’m Not Alone”, became his first number one on the UK Singles Chart.”
DJ Snake: “DJ Snake is a Grammy-nominated producer and artist who debuted into the international scene with singles “Bird Machine” and “Turn Down for What” in 2013. “Bird Machine” is a collaboration with fellow French act Alesia.
The single was picked up by Mad Decent, a Los Angeles-based record label run by Diplo, and released in February 2013. In June 2013, DJ Snake was invited by Diplo to do a live mix on his radio show, “Diplo & Friends”, which airs on BBC Radio 1.”
Zedd: “Anton Zaslavski is a Russian-German Grammy Award winning musician, music producer, and DJ. He primarily produces in the electro house genre, but has branched out, drawing influences from progressive house, dubstep, and classical music. Zedd grew up and began his career in Kaiserslautern, Germany.”
Zedd is going to be in the line up for Coachella 2016 so definitely check him out because he is definitely pretty new to the scene (only a few years), but definitely also a goodie!
DipLO: “Thomas Wesley Pentz (born November 10, 1978), better known by his stage name Diplo, is an American DJ, record producer, and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. He founded and manages record company Mad Decent, as well as co-founding the non-profit organization Heaps Decent. Among other jobs, he has worked as a school teacher in Philadelphia.
He is also the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dance hall music project, Major Lazer. His 2013 EP Revolution debuted at number 68 on the US Billboard 200. The song was later featured in a commercial for Hyundai and is featured on the WWE 2K16 soundtrack.” Just recently saw him on a TV show and he said he was coming out with a new album in 2016, so we will see how that goes!
