Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks has spent most of her life as a female rock star. Rolling Stone once dubbed her the “Reigning Queen of Rock N’ Roll.” It has been a long, tiring, rewarding journey for Nicks. That’s just her solo career. The famous Fleetwood Mac group is another big ball of Stevie Nicks’ artistic identity. Her ex long time boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham was also part of the group, and their tumultuous relationship eventually compelled Nicks to break up with Buckingham for the benefit of Fleetwood Mac’s career longevity

In reference to awards and career peaks the list goes on and on. Fleetwood Mac won the Record of the Year for the album ‘Rumours’ in 1978 and Grammy Hall Of Fame in 2003. They were nominated for a ton of Grammys between those years, and Nicks’ solo attempts have been nominated for many Grammys as well. The rock star is 68-years old and not slowing down. For her hit song, “Landslide,” she composed the lyrics, “Time makes you bolder, children get older, I’m getting older, too.” this was back in 1973 when she pushed past 30. Her life has doubled in the limelight since then. With her “24 Karat Gold Tour” beginning, unveiling the wonderfully flawed woman who shines in the spotlight.

Stevie Nicks has had her issues. She’s never been shy about it; she’s never held a media-falsified version of perfection like present pop stars. The “good girl” image is not to be blown off, as there is a value in role model status as a celebrity. However, the distressed phrase “Nobody is perfect” stands true; flawless star images have the inclination to break the fans image of a star. Nicks’ openness to her defects makes her relatable and accessible.

Stevie Nicks has battled weight gain, Klonopin addiction, cocaine addiction, the deaths of close friends and a persistent “single” status. Her time under fames spotlight has created a long-term relationship between the opinions and Nicks.

Nicks had romantic relationships with large artists such as Mick Fleetwood and Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh. What’s a rock star without her big-name partners that influence lyrics? Nicks has declared Walsh as her greatest love but the couple couldn’t stay together due to their drug abuse issues. If it continued Nicks was conscious of the problem and the reality of overdosing. She checked into rehabilitation.

Worries about her return to cocaine post-rehab, Nicks followed doctor’s orders to take the tranquilizer Klonopin. It took over her life and beat at any vivacious spirit out of her daily routine. Much like her battles with her relationships and addictions attest, Nicks always seems to resurface on the other side.

Klonopin forced Nicks into a lifestyle where media attention caused extreme weight gain when she returned to touring. Before Jennifer Hudson, before the Ashley Graham SI cover, Nicks was battling with public critique of her body and self esteem.

Stevie Nicks is now in a part of her life from where she’s been in the past. Fleetwood Mac is still together all these decades later. Stevie Nicks is currently going on tour with The Pretenders from October 25th to December 18th, hitting at big venues for example The Forum in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in NYC. Her 2014 album 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault unearth the magic that Nicks has continued to perpetuate. You can see our current Stevie Nicks ticket inventory here.
