Are you ready to rock?!
With some of the largest names in the heavy metal music scene taking the stage, in addition to a pre-event celebration going down, Foxwoods will be the place.
Revolution Rock Festival will be an outdoor event on the Foxwoods property but down the road on Route 2.
Killswitch Engage, Slayer and the household name Avenged Sevenfold will be the main attractions of the festival but far from the only thing. There will be lots of big name sponsors such as Bud Light and Monster Energy selling goods and handing out free samples. The others include a tailgate amusement experience and a King Ink Tattoo booth.
Don’t stress, Revolution Rock Festival will not allow you to leave hungry either. There are loads of food vendors that set up shop at the festival, and the variety will ensure everyone has their favorite food within walking distance.
It’s time to discuss the actual reason everyone will be attending Revolution Rock Festival: the music. All of us understand and love the headliners at this festival, but there are plenty of other groups worth the price of admission, and with two stages it’ll be key to understand when and which one to be.
Smashing Satellites – Bud Light Main Stage, 12:00 PM
Lead singer Sal Costa, once of My Darkest Days, recruited three new members and started his own group with his own vision. The group was formed in 2014, so they’re comparatively new to the scene, but a good performance at this festival could do a lot for the band’s trajectory. This should be a great show to kick off the festival as a brand new group with something to demonstrate will always put on a terrific performance.
Twelve Foot Ninja – Bud Light Main Stage, 2:10 PM
This band is worth checking account for the name. Do they actually have a giant ninja? Just one way to know. In all seriousness, this alloy fusion band has been tearing it up since its formation in 2008. In 2014 they won Best New Talent at the 2014 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, a huge honor as this is the only award show for hard rock in the U.S. Twelve Foot Ninja hails from Melbourne, Australia, and they have taken their sound all around the world in the previous couple years. They are going to put on a show that is raucous and get the Revolution Rock Festival crowd amped for the remaining part of the day.
Of Mice and Men – Monster Energy Main Stage, 3:50 PM
Of Mice and Men will put on one of many greatest shows of the day. The group has been making music and touring since 2009, and their front man Austin Carlile is an icon in the metal/hardcore music scene. Formerly the lead vocalist for Attack Attack!, Carlile has been doing this over a decade and his stage presence is what sets him apart. Of Men and Mice has released four studio albums and has been on the Vans Warped Tour lineup four times since 2010. They’ve amassed a sizeable following everywhere they go and their inclusion at Revolution Rock Festival will definitely attract a crowd. Of Mice of Men’s latest studio album, Cold World, dropped last week, so their set list should include all the hits from the new album.
Ghost – Bud Light Main Stage, 8:50 PM
Whether or not they will play the finest music of the day is up for debate, but Ghost will undoubtedly have the best stage presence and their visual effects will be unmatched. The group’s anonymity is another variable which makes them so great. The lead singer, known only as Papa Emeritus III has never revealed his true identity, and the five instrumentalists in the group are referred to as the “Nameless Ghouls.” The demonic heavy-metal band is originally from Sweden, but Ghost has made quite the impression in the U.S. as well. Ghost appeared during a Halloween edition of the show on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and has performed at Coachella. The group’s where Ghost won in the category of Best Metal Performance for their single “Cirice.” largest breakthrough came at the Grammy’s in 2016.
Revolution Rock Festival is a heavy metal enthusiast’s dream festival. There is going to be household names which will tear up the stage in addition to a great mixture of up and coming bands. Amusement will be and Foxwoods Resort and Casino will be the perfect host for the madness that will ensue on September 17th. The King Of Tickets is the place to go if you’re still in need of Revolution Rock Festival tickets!
